Marjorie Jaffe's Back In Shape Studio has a convenient location and is easy to access. The studio welcomes students of all ages and all fitness levels and we have personal trainers and instructors that specialize in all sorts of fitness. We even have programs that were created with senior citizens in mind. Our senior fitness classes are for the 50+ age group, which has a number of special exercise needs.   • Group Fitness Classes work all the muscles in the body for one hour. We stretch, strengthen, and align our skeleton while having fun working-out within a like-minded group. You’ll enjoy learning to move your body correctly with the knowledge of how to use it all the time.
  • Group Flexibility Classes emphasize keep our joints mobile and working the muscles surrounding the joints for stability and flexibility. Stretching is often neglected because it doesn’t burn as many calories as vigorous activities. But in order to be able to do those “activities”, you need your flexibility!
  • Senior Exercise Programs fit right into the slogan “use it or abuse it”. And, “use it” we do. We respect chronological age, however, in our Senior Exercise Classes, we believe in combating aging with activity. Your age may be climbing, but you feel as young as you used to be. We don’t try to match our fitness to when we were 20 years old, but go forward from whatever our present condition is and work towards improving that. Forever Fit – that’s our slogan!
  • Core Exercise Training targets the muscles supporting the trunk (or torso). Core training exercises are popular because of the realization that when your abdominal, lower back and gluteal muscles are strong, the rest of the body feels comfortable. We target one or all of these muscles in our core exercise training classes.
  • Abdominal Exercise Training is one of my favorite topics. When I met an important political person at a party, he asked me what I would do for his back. I answered “fix your front." Because muscles work in pairs, whenever your abdominal muscles are strong and tight, your back muscles are stretched and relaxed. Plus, you’ll fit into your jeans more easily and it looks better to have a flatter belly.
