None of our elderly exercise routines are done sitting in a chair. We literally don't want you to take getting older sitting down. Our exercises are all done on a floor mat. Don't worry though, we'll teach you how to safely get down onto the floor and also how to get back up again. The good news is that the more you exercise the easier these tasks will be. At first you may need help, but eventually you'll be able to do it on your own.
Our at home personal training sessions include light cardio,
stretching
and also breathing exercises. Our breathing exercises have to do with "rib cage breathing" which really serves to lift the rib cage. We work a great deal on creating a space between the rib cage and pelvis. Opening up that space takes pressure off of your lower back and regularly working that area will develop your waist, improve your
posture
and decrease back pain you may have.
We also teach nostril breathing techniques. Breathing correctly is a great way to relax and breathing exercises can be done on your own as well. As you learn these techniques you'll get used to them and be able to create a rhythm.
Customized Elderly FitnessEveryone's bodies are different and everyone has a different beginning fitness level as well as different fitness goals. People at different ages require different exercises and it's important not to compare our older bodies to our younger ones because our bodies do change over time. For the elderly we concentrate a lot strengthening the muscles are involved in balance and walking. Abdominal strength is important at any age and the pelvic floor muscles need to be strong as well to keep your body lifted.
All of our elderly fitness training, including
home personal training, is completely customized to meet your needs. We start your fitness to accommodate then level you're at then we go from there. We pay attention to you and focus on your weak spots, which may not be the same for everyone.
Along with balance you may also want to improve your range of motion and we can help you with that as well. While helping you we also make sure that you stay safe and comfortable. Our personal trainers for the elderly take care to make sure you're only doing exercises that make you feel better.
Our clients enjoy their workouts and love seeing results. Straighter shoulders, a more lifted head, stronger core, more mobile joints and improved motion around the shoulders, hips and knees, which are common areas where the elderly have issues. Beginning an exercise routine or picking up exercising again as you get up there in years is one of the best investments you can make for your health.
